Volunteering:
Purpose:
To provide the
minimum requirements and guidelines for curling volunteers to fulfill their
committed involvement in club activity in lieu of paying a membership
premium.
Background:
The Arnprior
Curling Club is successful because of the hard work and dedication of our
members who volunteer to do various tasks. Without such people the club
could not continue to operate as smoothly and efficiently as it does.
Volunteer work helps to keep the club's costs down and therefore keeps
membership fees at a minimum. Since the beginning, volunteer work has
been the cornerstone of our club. We appreciate the personal commitment
our members show in our club.
Our volunteers
make the tasks fun! (Other area clubs have similar
programs: Huntley: 2 tasks or $100 opt out fee, Carleton Place: 2 tasks
or $80 opt out fee, Almonte: 10 credits or $75 opt out fee)
Scope:
All adult Arnprior
Curling Club members who have indicated on their membership fee they will
voluntarily participate in curling club activity to help facilitate the
daily operations of the club, and not pay the membership premium.
The required credit
goal is established to represent a modest contribution by each member
roughly equal to the premium fee for those who cannot commit the required
time.
Requirement:
Each volunteer
will have to earn enough credits to reach the goal by gaining credit for
each volunteer activity they participate in. Each season will be measured
according to our fiscal year.
(May 1 to April
30).
2008 / 2009 season
will require a minimum of 10 hours or 10 credits to be earned to
fulfill the goal.
