LEAGUES
Day Curling
Friendlies:
Are held mostly
at 10:00 am on Thursday mornings, followed by lunch with the opposing
team. Each year Arnprior CC alternately hosts and visits area clubs from
Carp, Carleton Place and Almonte. There is a nominal charge for lunch.
Early in the season, look for sign-up sheets on the Seniors' bulletin
board.
Autumn Leaves:
Once a month beginning in November, one or two senior ladies' teams from
ACC play in a league that plays in Renfrew, Pembroke, and Eganville. The
morning game is followed by lunch and then an afternoon game. Points are
accumulated during the season
222:
Teams are made up
of two ladies and two men whose ages add up to at least 222 years. Rinks
in this league are Huntley, Richmond, Perth, Almonte, Carleton Place,
Smiths Falls, Metcalfe, Navan and Prescott. Normally held on Thursdays,
each event consists of two six-end games with lunch served between games.
Low Cup:
Fixed
teams play two games on Wednesdays, one before and one after lunch. The
games are played either at Arnprior or at various Ottawa Valley clubs.
Points are accumulated during the season. Check the seniors' bulletin
board for details.
Evening Curling
Monday Night Competitive:
This fixed league is open to teams (of any combination) who wish
to curl at a higher competitive level. If your team desires good curling,
this league is for you. First 16 teams registered are guaranteed.
Tuesday Night Mixed Social:
This league is for beginners, novice and the not-so-serious
curler (low competition & high fun). With only 6 ends of curling
being played, the prime objective is to have fun, meet people and learn
the basic skills of curling. First 64 individuals registered are
guaranteed a spot.
Wednesday Night Mixed:
This fixed league is for curlers who want to develop their
curling skills further in a more competitive and demanding
environment. Good sportsmanship
and spirited play are what this evening is all about. First 16 teams
registered are guaranteed.
Thursday Night Men's:
Men’s teams or individuals looking for a team are invited to
sign up for this fixed league.
Friday Night Open Social:
This is a fun evening that gives members the opportunity to
get in some extra curling while involving family and friends. Teams of any combination, that include
at least one ACC member, are made up from those that register and those
that just drop-in. Non-members are welcome and pay only $5 per evening to
curl. Consisting of 12 evenings spread out over the curling season, this
is an inexpensive and fun way to try the sport of curling.
