Dick-All
Bonspiel
(late Dec)
|
Held between Christmas and New Years Day,
teams
from Pakenham CC compete with Arnprior CC teams for a trophy that
leaves one feeling the winners didn't really win and the losers didn't
really lose. Hence the name - it reflects what you win! But during the
Holiday Season, it's more about giving than receiving, right?
Each player rotates through the four positions of lead, second,
third and skip. Even an inexperienced curler can end up as skip on the
final end and make a crucial shot to preserve the honour of the club.
A great social time is held after the curling, perhaps with
members of the two clubs providing pianists and lead singers for a
sing-a-long….or not! Each year, the host club changes, regardless of
winning or losing. In 2006, we head back to Arnprior.

Bonspiel
(mid Jan)
|
Held in mid-January, this is an opportunity
for ACC regulars to invite non-members for a weekend of fun at the
Club. Inexperienced curlers are welcome. Members are encouraged to
enter a team made up of two regulars and two people who are new to this
exciting sport.
Many of our current members have been introduced to the club and
to participation in the sport at this event.
Games are held Friday evening and Saturday, followed by a
dinner-dance on Saturday evening.
