Let’s Curl!!!

As announced by Premier Doug Ford, capacity limits have increased to 50% which allows the Curling Club to reopen.

Your conveners will contact you with updated schedules and team lists.

Social distancing will be a must on the ice rink and in the Patch as the Omicron variant is highly transmittable. On the Ice, we will have the one sweeper rule in play along with skip sweeping beyond the hog line. The skip with the team throwing rocks has house priority. On the ice, masks will be optional.

In the Bar or other parts of the Club, please wear your mask as you travel about. While enjoying a refreshing beverage, please remain seated and masks are not required. Table seating is limited to four curlers while respecting a member’s social distance.

If you are not planning to curl during the winter session, please advise your convener so arrangements can be made.

See you at the Rink!

Other Important Information

The cost is $60 per curler. This includes 3 games, 2 lunches and 1 dinner. The deadline for sign up is December 1.

We would really love to participate as a club in this event but that means that we need our members to sign up!

If you are interested, or have any questions, please email Cheryl Caswell at cherylcaswell99@gmail.com , or sign up at the club. Sign Up sheets are posted on the Events Board. You can sign up individually, or as a team.

Please sign up by December 1 so that we can gauge interest and let Huntley know if we are able to participate in this amazing opportunity.

Having played in bonspiels outside of our own club, I can personally tell you that it is really fun to attend bonspiels with friends in a friendly competition. It is a great way to enjoy the game of curling in a new venue. If 48 ACC members attend this event, it will be so much fun!

Welcome to 2021, the ACC 153rd Season!

The Arnprior Curling Club is committed to the positive well-being of all members of our community. The ACC Board is aligning our COVID-19 Response with updated Province of Ontario and Curl On/Curling Canada Guidelines.

These are subject to change throughout our season and we will do our best to keep you informed. We agree with our sport partner associations that “it is entirely possible for people to continue to curl in a manner that is physically distant and low-risk, while still enjoying the positive social and physical benefits of the sport.”

Therefore, as of September 22, 2021, members will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination upon registration.

Masks will be optional on the ice as long as social distancing is practised, and required in the lounge, locker rooms and when moving about the club.

We know this will be a huge relief to our members, especially for those who wear glasses!

Volunteering is the lifeblood of this club. Many individuals contribute hours far beyond our minimum discount requirements, without whose efforts we simply could not operate the facility. We try to organize our needs to minimize wasted time and as always, many hands make light work.

A huge gratitude of thanks go out to all our volunteering members.
